The World Series of Poker is a yearly tournament including a series of events which are united as part of one huge Las Vegas-based tournament. Founded by Benny Binion, the casino tycoon, the World Series of Poker championship started in the 1970s and consists of 58 events with the most popular being Texas Hold 'em. One of the favourite tournaments for poker gamers on the planet, the winning player takes home an impressive cash prize and a much sought after bracelet. Stu Ungar and Johnny Moss are the only two players to have won a hat-trick of poker titles during the poker competition whilst four players (Moss, Ungar, Doyle Bronson and Johnny Chan) have won back-to-back tournaments. Statistically the most successful poker gamer in the World Series of Poker is a Wisconsin native, Phil Hellmuth, with 11 World Series of Poker bracelets. Jonathan Duhamel won the World Series of Poker in 2010, the first time the title has gone to a Canadian.
